ROBERT SAMUEL MCMAHON is an Asian American film director and sound designer from Providence, Rhode Island and is currently based in New York City. Known for his 2020 film, My Plant!, McMahon is an award-winning artist featured in SHORTED, The Metropolist, and festivals such as the Avalonia Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, Alternative Film Festival, and Los Angeles Independent Film Awards. McMahon's stories center around the thoughts and struggles of today's youth combining drama, adventure, and comedy.
His most recent work Personal Pizza (2023) is a coming of age, adventure-romance about a pizza delivery driver, Rylee, whose car is broken into and robbed. With the help of her ex-boyfriend, Jesse, the two embark on an adventure to retrieve the stolen personal items. Personal Pizza screened at the Museum of Moving Image as part of their First Look Festival in 2023.
